Great place to walk, cross country ski, snow shoe, snowmobile....
Great place to bike, hike, run for all ages. Trails deep in the park not marked well. Recommend bringing your own park map if your riding out near twitchell's airport.
This is a very large park beside the Androscoggin river. On weekends there are lots of ATVs (I hate ATVs) on the main trails. If you're hikers like us there are separate hiking trails beside the river. Avoid the weekends and you can have the place to yourself. Beautiful
We hiked some trails today, and we had a great time. The only problem was that Google maps couldn't get us to the park. We wandered this way and that. At one point, the Google map provided on the website had us on some strange road a couple of miles from the park. It told us to park alongside of the road and walk to our destination. What?!
A nice State Park along the river. The campsite on the islands would be a great place for kids to see nature.
In the end, nice people pointed the way, and we were able to get there. But if not for the kindness of strangers, we'd still be wandering around, looking for the entrance.
